Inspection Frequency Programs
Often drill string inspections are scheduled at arbitrary intervals based on rotating hours or footage drilled. These intervals are set using the "experience" in an area or with particular components. The need to inspect depends on how severely (not how long) we have used a component. O.C.T.G. Procter Consultancy Ltd provides Inspection Frequency Guidelines to help take some of the guesswork out of deciding when the client needs to inspect the Drillstring.
These are based on our use of the WS-Inspect Software program.
Our expertise and knowledge of Frequency requirements have been used to minimise the risk of a drill string failure and has in many cases saved several thousands of pounds on unnecessary inspection.
